The NGO Council of Kenya has welcomed the new Cabinet secretaries being sworn in after being cleared by the National assembly saying the have a major task of steering the country in the post-2022 election era that has seen the prices of almost everything shoot up to unprecedented levels. The Council Chairman Stephen Kipchumba Cheboi said the already gazetted ministers and sworn must now hit the ground running as Kenyans are waiting for services and improvement in the quality of life under the new regime of President William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza coalition, He said the question of the high cost of living was now central in the lives of majority of middle to low income Kenyans,
"As The NGO Council we urge the cabinet secretaries to serve Kenyans with dedication and commitment to implement what they pledged to Kenyans during the parliamentary vetting process and as promised by Kenya Kwanza during campaigns, Cheboi said.
He said as the NGO Council of Kenya, they would collaborate with the Government on various avenues to ensure Kenyans get services for the betterment of the people of Kenya.
He said the council would audit all public funds disbursement at national and county levels to name and shame corruption through the "Follow Your Money" initiative.
"We will be supportive of government but not blind to any excesses or abuse of office by public servants who are paid by taxpayers to do ajob" he said.
