The NGO Council of Kenya appreciates all NGOs and other development stakeholders for the great work throughout the year - 2022. The Council appreciates all NGOs for their dedication and selfless service to Kenyans in various parts of the country and thus awarding them with certificates of good service. The various organisations doing great work of merits deserve outstanding recognition, some of them battled against COVID-19 throughout the year. Speaking during the award ceremony, The NGO Council's Chair, Stephen Kipchumba Cheboi, mentioned that some NGOs had been in the front-line in the fight against the global pandemic which still has no cure. "Our members NGOs have exercised great vigilance and personal sacrifice on the ground as they rolled out health safety guards and educated communities on avoiding the pandemic."

The end of the year meeting was also addressed by several speakers from various organisations operating in many parts of the country noting how NGOs do great work and should continue collaborating with various stakeholders so as to achieve socio-economic development of the nation. Cheboi said currently the major challenge has been battling the raging famine in North Eastern and other parts that have put the lives of 4 million people at risk of starvation. NGOs will continue to compliment the good work government and other stakeholders are doing in our nation. As a Council, we remain committed to serving the nation.
