During the World Human rights Day 2022 on December 10,1948,the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) affirming that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” This day honored the UDHR and its proclamation that human rights are to be universally protected. All persons have these rights and should be free to exercise them, without discrimination, no matter what they believe, whom they love, or where they live. All means all. Through this day we recognize that inherent dignity and the rights of all are the bedrock for justice and peace of all people. The NGO Council and its Members will continue to advocate for rights of people in our society and go against abusers of human rights. We want a world that respects democracy and human rights. On its 74th anniversary, we celebrate the milestone document and urge implementation of universal human rights for everyone, everywhere. This day also marked the 16 day of activism against gender based violence that begun on 25th November, The NGO Council and Members will continue to champion for society free from any form of gender based violence, as we come closer to the end of the year we laud and indeed appreciate all our Members and stakeholders who have stood firm against all sorts of human rights abuses in our society.
