Selfish Move: NGO Council Condemns Political Parties
The NGO Council of Kenya condemns with the strongest terms possible a selfish move by some political parties not to nominate the correct persons meant to represent the marginalnilized groups, Youths,Women and other special interest groups as envisaged in the Constitution of Kenya 2010 as nominees to various County Assemblies across the 47 Counties.
The Council of notes with concern that It's not fair at all to nominate undeserving individuals of the community to take slots meant for Youths, Women, marginalised groups, minorities and other special interest groups in our society as those not deserving the positions may not represent the categories adequately. We urge the concerned parties and the electoral and boundaries Commission ( IEBC) to correct the anomalies and nominate the correct and deserving persons to various County Assemblies across the country.
The NGO Council and it's membership will continue to champion towards of rights Youths, women, marginalised groups, minorities and other special interest groups in our society.
