The NGO Council of Kenya appeals to all Kenyans Countrywide to remain patient and bear with the Electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) as it counts and tallies final results of the presidential election.
The NGO Council urges parties and their supports to allow IEBC to tally results of the presidential elections until they finalize the process at the right time.
The Council through the Chairman Stephen Cheboi praised all Kenyans for remaining Peaceful since casting their votes on Tuesday 9th August 2022 saying IEBC still within the 7 day the legal time-line to release the official results of the General Elections.
We urge that IEBC should be accorded time to do things correctly and declare the proper results that are credible, free,fair and verifiable."
The NGO Council urged all the winners and losers for the various positions i.e MCAs,MPs, SEnators and Governors to continue in the same peaceful spirit of give and take to avoid any possible election related violence or acrimony.
"The NGO Council appreciate the people of Kenya for voting peacefully and satisfied with the way voters have conducted themselves and IEBC officials from through reports of our from our county and sub-county Network who monitored the process. We take this opportunnity to laud all other Observers and civic groups fr job well done in participating in the 2022 general Electoral Process. We further laud Kenyans for electing more women to various leadership positions in the Country.
We urge all Kenyans to continue to be peaceful and exercise patients as presidential counting and tallying going on well. The NGO Council and Members will continue to champion the interest for the people of Kenya and humanity at large. we call for peace and harmony among all Kenyans and leaders. We urge leaders who have been elected to be servant leaders and serve the people as per the promises they each gave during the campaign period. Thank you all.
The NGO Council is confident that IEBC will finally release results that broadly reflect the freely expressed will of the majority of Kenyans.
We urged winners and losers in the closely contested presidential race to embrace and acknowledge each other for " running the good race" and urge their supporters to accept the results and move on.
