The NGO Council of Kenya has praised political parties free, fair and nominations witnessed through party primaries across the Country.
NGO Council Chairman Stephen Cheboi said that the mainstream political parties are expected to lead by example in conducting free, fair and verifiable elections saying the tendency to adopt "consensus" or "preferred" candidates may kill internal democracy of political parties and the country.
"It is wrong for party leaders to meet in to decide on behalf of wananchi whom they have not consulted which is why elections are held in the first place" said Cheboi.
NGO Council stressed that there is need to uphold democracy in our country.
