The National Council of NGOs-Kenya hosted Mr. Stasie Nicholaides for brief session accompanied by Bishop Jonathan Mokaya. Mr.Nicholaides is a Church Minister from The United States of America doing church programs in Africa notably in Kenya,Uganda and Senegal.
Through the support of his local organization and New Light Church, their programs are tailored towards supporting refugees and local community members through Education and economic Empowerment initiatives.With the continued rise in the number of refugees in Africa partly due to the ongoing crises in the region, their effects are felt across all the sectors.This not withstanding,Civil Society engagement in matters to do with refugees can never be underestimated.
We therefore explored the possible of partnership with Nicholaides' organization because as a Council,we strongly believe that when we support refugees, it's an opportunity to support the economic base of our Country.
