The NGO Council of Kenya has rolled out a massive campaign online to post regular real time Peace messages via social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp groups designed to spread the peace gospel ahead of the long awaited August 9 2022 general election. The Peace message will be meant to reign in rowdy elements bent on fomenting chaos if they lose elections. Cheboi said already teams had been dispatched across the 47 counties to take pictorial Peace messages from well meaning Wananchi which are them promptly shared with all Kenyans via social media platforms and offline.
"We have all agreed that without Peace nothing can go forward so during this critical times of Kenya's 5th transition elections we are pleading with leaders and Wananchi to compete without resorting to violence" he said.
He urged the youth who are future leaders with a greater stake in having a Peacful country not to be swayed by handouts or alcohol to engage in pointless violence by unscrupulous politicians who may on being defeated resort to violence.
"We shall keep saying and restating that Kenya has move away from post election violence of the past.We are telling our youth, women, and elders to pool resources and observe peaceful but free and fair general elections. And may the best player win" he said adding that the country would not be held hostage by hardliners refusing to accept the verdict of the people.
He said the law was clear about those dissatisfied with the outcome of the elections who are at liberty to file petition at the supreme court and seek justice as any Bona-fide Kenyans who feels that the process did not measure up to credible free and fair elections.
