Be Ready To Accept Results; Voters Further Urged To Turn Out To Vote

The NGO COUNCIL OF KENYA has urged voters to uphold PEACE during Tuesday 9th August 2022 voting saying the 21 million registered voters should turn out in big numbers to cast their votes and chart the country's destiny for the next 5 years.
In a statement on the eve of the polls, as campaigns officially ended Saturday, August 6, 2022, Council Chairman Stephen K. Cheboi urged voters across the country to make wise choices to avoid whining over leaders' failures after voting closes.
"Make wise choices as you walk to the ballot booth well aware you are deciding the kind of life you want to lead in the next 5 years," Cheboi said after attending a peace and good governance workshop at a city hotel in Nairobi.
Cheboi urged IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to work without fear or favour in delivering a credible free, fair, and verifiable election "do not be cowed by any quarter because Kenyans will stand with you at this critical moment."
He said the Council had deployed peace monitors and observers in all the 290 constituencies in the 47 counties adding that reports so far show the country is ready for elections and urged fear-mongers to stop spreading lies about possible chaos.
We have full confidence in the integrity of the process and the commitment of security forces to maintain law and order on voting day and after results are announced.
We urge our members to help wananchi maintain peace at all times.
