In Partnership with Ministry of Interior and coordination of National Government, National Cohesion and Integration Commission, Kenya Red Cross society, One Nation Under One God, Women organisations, local NGOs and other key Peace stakeholders , The NGOs Council of Kenya joined and mobilized Kenyans across the 47 counties to commemorate World day of cultural diversity for development by engaging it's Members and stakeholders in National Women Peace Walk 2022 that involved atleast 5 KM Peace walk to promote peace, free and Fair Elections in Kenya.

The National Women's Peace walk was meant to promote mutual understanding and reciprocal knowledge of cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity.As central caretakers of families, the role of women in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, peacekeeping and humanitarian response can never be underestimated, especially as we head towards the General elections.

The walk was anchored on the rallying call ELECTION BILA NOMA . It was conducted across the 47 counties in Kenya and was flagged off by the County Commissioners in the respective counties. They participants called for unity amidst the existing diversities and embrace the Kenyan oneness, the need to coexist peacefully and resist being used as instruments of propagating violence amid the electoral processes.

The NGO COUNCIL OF KENYA appreciate The Ministry of Interior and National Coordination, all the partners and participants who made this important event a success. We continue to call upon the Kenyans to embrace the spirit of brotherhood,unity and peaceful coexistence as the country head towards the 2022 general Elections to be held on 9th August 2022.
